Ringing Bells is not just Freedom 251 : Check out Power Banks, Feature phones and 4G smartphone.

The company which made promises that were so good and hard to believe is back again. We are talking about Ringing Bells, the company which launched Freedom 251 named smartphone in February in India. Naming of smartphone is so because it costs only Rs 251 ($4). While they have not delivered any Freedom 251 till now, they are launching more products.

Their next biggest promise is giving you 31.5 inch LED TV at Rs. 9900 only. Television is listed on their website with coming soon tag. Clicking over the TV or Coming soon takes you nowhere. Other set of products launched by company are a trio of power banks, four feature phones and two more smartphones. Why the company which dreamed of giving a smartphone to every Indian, launched feature phones? Why feature phones and not only one, a full set of four feature phones ranging from Rs. 699/- to 1099/-(US$ 10.5 to 16.5).  Another thing why the company sold those Freedom 251 handsets online ? Only people having internet access can successfully purchase that device.

The company has also launches two similar name devices, Elegance and Elegant. There are a lot of other names, pick any other from the dictionary. Coming to the specifications, features and price of the phones, first of all, we will talk about flagship. Yes, flagship from Ringing Bells, but it costs only Rs. 4499. Elegance is a 4G compatible handset, wow, its good naa, Noo.. but it is only single SIM device. I think it is single SIM because there is no mention of it being Dual SIM on their website. I think Dual SIM is one of main selling points of all the phones, even, brands like Samsung launched flagship with hybrid dual SIM slot. The phone has the following features

  • 5.0 HD IPS Display
  • 1 GB DDR3 RAM & 1.3GHz Quad core processor
  • 8 MP(1080p video recording) Rear & 3.2 MP Front Camera
  • 4G VoLTE
  • 2800 mAh battery
  • Android 6.0
  • WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, FM radio

Coming to Elegant, it is almost the same as Elegance but only differences are lack of 4G support and battery size downgraded to 2500 mAh. It also looks nearly the same as Elegance 4G in pictures on their website. Both Elegant and Elegance have 30 days replacement guarantee and also the normal 1 year warranty.

Their feature phones are keypad phones on which they are offering 180 days replacement guarantee. 180 days replacement will be great if it really comes to market. Besides that, there is 1 year normal warranty. You will find following options in all the feature phones, as per Ringing Bells website-

  • Dual SIM support
  • 2 MP primary camera
  • Memory card slot upto 32 GB
  • Auto Call Recorder
  • LED Torch light
  • WiFi, Bluetooth and FM radio, .. really ??

The cheapest one is Hit at Rs. 699, powered by 1250 mAh battery and supports 1.8 TFT display. Both King and Boss have 2.4 display. But, there is difference in pricing, King and Boss have price tag of Rs 899 and Rs 999 respectively. Price gap is because of 2000 mAh battery in Boss against the 1800 mAh in King. The biggest display is supported by Raja at 2.8 and has a 1800 mAh battery. Ringing-Bells-feature-phones

Nobody knows the future of these phones. Lets wait and watch. They have also removed description of Freedom 251 from their website. Maybe, it is end of $4 smartphone and Freedom 251 was just a publicity stunt..

There is no mention on website of buy now. But there is page related to distributors. They claim they have some distributors and also looking up for more distributors. Hope they soon find distributors and we get hands on so much awaited Ringing Bells phones.

You can go directly to their website for checking more details. I like the company because of their efforts and dreams. Even they are trying to do the impossible. The best part is that they are offering WiFi in Rs. 699 feature phone. Haha. Comment what do you think about Ringing Bells.
