Bluetooth has been with us for a very long time. We can remember Bluetooth from old Nokia devices. It was the only medium to exchange files in our smartphones before the coming of apps like shareit and xender.
lets understand what Bluetooth exactly is ? Bluetooth is a wireless data transfer technology which can transfer data between two Bluetooth supported devices, the data maybe any document, multimedia file, signals, etc. within a limited range. It is used to establish personal area networks. Bluetooth is managed by the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG), which has more than 25,000 member companies in the areas of telecommunication, computing, networking, and consumer electronics.
Bluetooth has a lot of applications in our daily practical life. Bluetooth can give us entertainment with wireless Bluetooth headsets and earbuds. We can transfer files using Bluetooth on our devices. Bluetooth give us power to establish wireless connection between our PC and keyboard & mouse.
Mark Powell from Bluetooth SIG posted an update about the upcoming Bluetooth 5. The newer update is supposed to give twice the range and quadruple the speed of low energy Bluetooth transmissions.
More features stated are Bluetooth 5 will also provide significant new functionality for connectionless services like location-relevant information and navigation. By adding significantly more capacity to advertising transmissions, Bluetooth 5 will further propel the adoption and deployment of beacons and location-based services to users around the world. It’s a great story and one we’re looking forward to telling from our upcoming media event in London on 16 June.
